POLIS and CityFi Join Micromobility Europe 2026 as Partners

Micromobility Industries has announced a new partnership with POLIS Network and CityFi for Micromobility Europe 2026, taking place June 2-3, 2026 in Berlin. The collaboration aims to strengthen dialogue between city leaders and the private mobility sector as the industry moves from experimentation to large-scale urban integration. A newly expanded City Stage, curated with support from POLIS and CityFi, will focus on policy, regulation, and real-world urban mobility challenges through keynotes, fireside chats, and city-focused sessions. The partnership reflects a broader push to align public policy, infrastructure, and micromobility innovation to build sustainable, multimodal transport systems across cities.

London E-Scooter Trips Up 54%

New data from Transport for London shows strong growth in the city’s e-scooter trial between September 2024 and September 2025. Trips increased 54% YoY, rising from 1.3m to over 2m trips, with average utilization reaching 1.5 trips per vehicle per day. The trial, operated by Lime and Voi Technology, now runs more than 4k vehicles across 1.6k+ parking bays in 11 boroughs of London. Safety performance remains strong with 95% parking compliance and no fatalities recorded. Transport for London is now launching a tender for the next phase of the trial, which will help inform future micromobility regulation and policy in the city.

During the Winter Games period (Feb 6-22), shared micromobility helped manage increased travel demand in Milan. Riders completed over 433k trips, an average of 25.5k trips per day on e-bikes and e-scooters from Lime, covering more than 840k km across the city. To support the surge, Lime temporarily added 1k extra e-bikes, improving connections between event venues, metro stations, and neighborhoods. Usage on bike lanes rose 124% compared with 2025, while first-time riders increased 126%, highlighting how major events and cycling infrastructure investments can accelerate the adoption of shared, low-carbon transport.

Shared e-scooters and e-bikes are now available in Kamloops, a city in western Canada’s British Columbia province. The program, operated by Bird Canada, is rolling out 255 e-scooters and 45 e-bikes, initially focusing on high-demand areas such as downtown and the Tranquille Market Corridor. The service aims to offer an affordable option for short trips, reduce car dependency, and improve connections to transit and local businesses. Riders must be 16 or older, wear helmets, and use roads with speed limits of 50 km/h or lower or designated bike lanes, while riding on sidewalks is prohibited.

The micromobility season began on March 2 in Vilnius, bringing shared e-scooters and e-bikes back to the city’s streets. This year also introduced a mandatory helmet rule for all riders, along with reminders to use bike lanes and avoid sidewalks. The city has installed around 800 designated parking spaces across most neighborhoods to better integrate micromobility into its urban transport system. Shared vehicles from platforms such as Bolt and Ride are required to use these marked parking zones to keep sidewalks clear and improve safety.

NSW Tightens E-Bike Laws

New e-bike laws don't include e-scooters

In Australia, the government of New South Wales is introducing new regulations for e-bikes, including a minimum rider age of between 12 and 16 and updated power limits aligned with European safety standards. However, the changes do not address privately owned e-scooters, which remain illegal on public roads and paths across the state. While shared e-scooter trials continue in selected locations, concerns from communities highlight confusion and safety risks due to the absence of clear regulations for private e-scooter use.
