At Micromobility Europe 2025 in Brussels, innovation took center stage in the Startup Arena, where a curated group of early-stage companies showcased their products and ideas to industry leaders, investors, and media. The Startup Arena, already featured by TechCrunch in this article by Rebecca Bellan, has become the go-to platform for discovering what is next in urban mobility.
In addition to the exhibition, founders also took part in a Startup Pitch Competition, presenting their solutions live on stage before a jury of experts. The Startup Awards celebrated the top three pitches, recognizing the most promising innovations redefining how people move through cities.
Gold Winner: Blike – New Ways to Access Micromobility

The top honor went to Blike, a London-based startup redefining how people access e-bikes. Blike operates a subscription model for individuals and businesses that includes the vehicle, insurance, maintenance, security, and fleet management, all within a single monthly fee.
“Winning at Micromobility Europe was a real inflection point for Blike,” said Tim Carrigan, CEO and Founder. “The exposure we gained at the event directly helped us secure a transformative £10 million institutional credit facility, giving us the firepower to support micromobility brands across Europe in 2026.”
Blike’s platform uses IoT to address key barriers in bike adoption such as affordability, theft prevention, and asset recovery for missed payments.
Carrigan added, “The award also showcased our underlying subscription infrastructure to the industry, and we are signing up new brands each quarter. We are now gearing up for our Series A, which will fund further investment in our tech stack, a self-service customer app, and embedded white-label subscription technology that plugs into brand websites and checkout flows to unlock a new total addressable market for micromobility OEMs.”

Silver Winner: Bib Batteries – Building Circularity Into Micromobility

Second place went to Bib Batteries, recognized for its work in battery lifecycle management and circular economy solutions.
Bib helps operators maximize the value of their battery assets through two core products: the Battery Management Tool, which assesses end-of-life batteries to determine residual value and profitable reuse options, and EValue, a platform that leverages OEM-approved, non-invasive data collection to evaluate battery health and provide insights on usage, charging, and leasing strategies.
“We had the opportunity to exchange with major stakeholders, clients, and partners,” said Pierre-Amans Lapeyre, CEO of Bib Batteries. “It is great to see the industry moving towards more sustainable and circular models.”
Lapeyre added, “At Bib Batteries, we believe it has become essential to integrate circular economy principles into the economic equation of micromobility fleets. Our mission is to direct every battery toward its best possible outcome: repair, second life, or recycling.”
As more electric vehicles hit the streets, the question of what happens to batteries at the end of their life is becoming critical. Bib Batteries is addressing that challenge head-on, promoting a more responsible and economically viable approach to one of the most complex components in micromobility.

Bronze: FLIT – Smart Design for Urban Portability

Taking third place, FLIT impressed judges with its sleek folding e-bike designed for urban dwellers who value portability and flexibility. The design allows riders to combine cycling with public transport or store the bike easily in compact spaces.
“Micromobility has been on a rollercoaster since Covid, with everything from demand booms to supply crunches,” said Alex Murray, Managing Director and Co-founder. “But the mission remains the same: giving people better ways to move around cities that are flexible, fast, and fun.”
Reflecting on the experience, Murray added, “Micromobility Europe is still one of the best places for bringing together that mission’s forward thinkers. As European governments continue strengthening the policy and infrastructure needed to create a healthy micromobility sector, innovators need to keep bringing fresh ideas to the market. That is also why we at FLIT were so pleased to win third place in the MME Startup Awards. We are very optimistic about the long-term opportunities that micromobility will unlock and believe our focus on moving flexibly with folding e-bikes will help more people participate.”

A Platform for Fresh Ideas
The Startup Arean at Micromobility Europe gives early-stage founders a stage to connect with investors, operators, and policymakers. The Startup Awards bring recognition to the innovators who are setting the tone for the industry’s next phase.
Together, this year’s winners show that micromobility innovation is no longer just about the vehicle itself. It is about building the ecosystem around it: how people access it, how it is powered, and how every component fits into a more sustainable urban future.
