What You Need to Know Today

Gocycle, the premium British e-bike brand known for its innovative industrial designs, has pledged to rethink “cumbersome and heavy cargo bikes” with its upcoming F1-inspired belt-drive CX series. Now the company has shared the first images of the bike, and, as promised, it’s both strikingly good-looking and impressively functional. The headline here is the bike’s weight. At 50 lb (22.6 kg) it’s at least 50% lighter than many cargo e-bikes, yet can still haul some serious payloads. Overall the CX can handle 420 lb (190 kg) of load capacity, plus up to 132 lb (60 kg) on the rear rack.

ICYMI: We demo’d the new Radster Trail this week on Ride Review.

Rad Power Bikes has long been the epitome of the affordable, entry-level segment of the market. With most of their models priced between $1,000-2,000, they have provided good value for money but most people didn't consider them “premium.” That appears to have changed with the launch of Rad's 2024 lineup, with re-vamped versions of the RadWagon and RadExpand, and a brand-new model called the Radster.

We took an in-depth look at the Radster Trail variant, which we found to be a nice blend of utility and adventure. It features a sturdy yet approachable frame, with a powerful motor driven by Rad's new SafeShield battery tech. It's meticulously designed with premium components across the board, highlighted by a Shimano Acera drivetrain with a torque sensor. Check out our full coverage below.

Ryvid, a rising star in the e-motorcycle scene, is bringing new configurations, accessories, and colorways to the Anthem. For our money, the highlight of the collection is the new rear rack, which many Ryvid riders have been requesting. (The Anthem has a fairly unique frame construction, making it more challenging to get a rear rack from a third-party provider.)
