Rad Power Bikes Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Rad Power Bikes has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, listing approximately $32.1m in assets and $72.8m in liabilities, according to court documents. The filing follows a period of rapid expansion during the pandemic e-bike boom, followed by mounting operational and financial pressures. Chapter 11 allows the company to continue operating, while it restructures its obligations under court supervision.

Cowboy Closes ReBirth Deal

Brussels-based e-bike maker Cowboy has completed a financial restructuring deal with French mobility group ReBirth, securing new funding following a balance-sheet overhaul. ReBirth now holds a majority stake in Cowboy, combining fresh capital with reinvestment from existing shareholders. The partnership will enable Cowboy to restart bike production in January 2026, with more than 1.5k bikes planned for the initial production run to address its delivery backlog. Cowboy will be more closely integrated into ReBirth’s supply chain and retail network, which includes hundreds of dealers across France. Founder Adrien Roose has stepped down as part of the transition, with Cowboy continuing to operate independently from Brussels.

Bird and Lyft Expand Micromobility Partnership

Bird has integrated its e-bikes into the Lyft app in several US cities, including Denver, Nashville, and Cleveland, allowing riders to locate and unlock Bird e-bikes alongside Lyft’s other transport options. The rollout builds on the company’s existing app-level integration for shared scooters. The partners have also launched a seasonal pilot in Canada. In cities where Bird vehicles are hibernated during winter, users are redirected from the Bird app to Lyft’s platform, providing continued access to shared mobility options during colder months.

Together, the developments reflect a broader strategy to expand access to shared micromobility through fewer, more integrated multimodal platforms, reducing friction for riders planning urban trips.

The project, launching in Q3 2026, supports Donkey Republic’s growth strategy and contributes toward its mid-term goal of operating 30k–35k bikes and generating €30-36m in annual revenue by 2027. The company will now secure financing for fleet investments, as it prepares to roll out the system.

Renault Ends Duo and Zity Projects

Renault Group is winding down major elements of its Mobilize Beyond Automotive unit, canceling the Mobilize Duo quadricycle and its Bento variant before wider launches due to limited profitability. The company is also phasing out its Zity car-sharing services in cities such as Milan and Madrid, as part of a broader strategic shift to focus on core operations and EV charging solutions. Mobilize will no longer exist as a standalone division, with its remaining energy and charging services folded into Renault’s main business.

Atlanta Beltline Partners with Lime on E-Bike Safety

Lime has partnered with the Atlanta Beltline to offer free monthly e-bike training sessions, called First Ride Academies, aimed at educating new riders on safe handling, local rules, and trail etiquette. The initiative includes the implementation of dynamic speed zones along the Beltline, 8 mph during peak hours and 10 mph off-peak, to improve safety. The collaboration supports Atlanta’s efforts to expand sustainable mobility options ahead of the 2026 World Cup, with Lime also introducing its new LimeGlider and LimeBike models to the city.

Overland Park Approves New E-Bike Share Pilot

The Overland Park City Council has voted to move forward with a new shared e-bike pilot program, authorizing an agreement with the nonprofit BikeWalkKC to deploy 60 pedal assisted e-bikes without throttles. The bikes will be stationed primarily along Metcalf Avenue starting in early 2026, with the city covering upfront costs of approximately $350k along with ongoing maintenance. Unlike earlier pilots with private operators such as Bird and Lime, this program involves the city purchasing the bikes and partnering with an established local organization, aiming for greater stability and closer integration with the regional RideKC network.

Fly-E Bike’s Q2 2025 Loss Widens

Fly-E Group reported net revenues of $3.9m in Q2 FY2026, down 42.7% YoY, largely due to a 61% drop in average EV selling prices as it discounted to clear aged inventory and weaker retail demand. The company posted a net loss of $1.8m, a 55.4% increase from the prior year period, reflecting diminished sales. EBITDA was negative $1m, slightly improved from the prior year’s negative $1.2m.
