Voi Raises €40 Million in Bond Issue

Voi Technology has successfully issued an additional €40m in senior secured bonds. This brings the total outstanding under its bond framework to €90m. The bonds, which attracted strong demand and were significantly oversubscribed, carry a floating interest rate. The bond was priced at 104.75% of its nominal value. It carries a floating interest rate of 3-month EURIBOR (an European benchmark rate) plus 6.75% interest per year.

The net proceeds will be used to expand Voi’s fleet of e-scooters and e-bikes in 2026 and for general corporate purposes.

NIU Sold ~466K Vehicles in Q3

NIU Technologies sold 465.9k units in Q3 2025, up 49.0% YoY from 312.4k in Q3 2024. Growth was again largely driven by China, which accounted for most of the increase, 451k units in China (+74.3% YoY), while overseas sales dropped to 14.4k (-73.0% YoY). China now represents over 97% of the total volume in Q3.

Dott Bikes Hit 1,000 Daily Rides in Colchester

Colchester’s Dott bike hire scheme has reached a milestone of 1,000 daily rides, following its expansion to Great Horkesley and West Bergholt. Launched in 2024, the program continues to grow with strong local uptake and support from a dedicated eCargo bike team managing operations.
Meanwhile, E-scooters remain absent from Colchester’s streets after the council ended its contract with Dott in August. Voi has been named the new operator, but a rollout date for scooters in the city has not yet been announced.

Ather Energy’s Stock Doubles Since IPO

Ather Energy delivered 18.1k units in September, up 64% YoY, giving it a 17% market share, and is among the top three e-scooter manufacturers for the first time in the country. The company also rolled out its 500,000th scooter from its Hosur plant. Ather currently operates two manufacturing units in Hosur with a combined capacity of 420k units per annum. To meet growing demand, it will establish ‘Factory 3.0’ in Maharashtra, which will increase its total installed capacity to 1.42m units.

Reflecting this momentum, Ather Energy’s stock has performed strongly, rising 100% since its stock market debut on May 6, 2025. As of Monday, October 6, the stock closed at ₹620 ($7.0), up from its issue price of ₹321($3.5) per share.

Urban Arrow Launches Affordable Electric Cargo Bike

Dutch cargo bike brand Urban Arrow has expanded its lineup with the Breeze, its first longtail electric cargo bike. Priced at €5,499, the Breeze offers a more affordable and compact alternative to the brand’s traditional front-loading models. It is powered by a Bosch Cargo Line motor, can carry up to 200 kg, and includes standard features like front and rear racks. The bike is designed for urban families, supporting child seats and a wide range of accessories, marking the brand’s entry into the competitive longtail market.

Denver South Tests Bluetooth Scooter Parking System

Denver South, in partnership with Spin and SparkPark, is piloting a high-precision Bluetooth parking system to manage e-scooter parking in Greenwood Village and Centennial. The technology uses antennas to create virtual parking spots and verifies when a scooter is correctly parked. The pilot, running until July 2026, aims to reduce sidewalk clutter and gather data. Incentives for proper parking are planned, and the program has already seen a doubling of ridership since its April 2024 launch.

Bay Wheels Expands E-Bike Access in Daly City

The Bay Wheels bikeshare program has expanded into Daly City, adding eight new stations and 80 electric bikes to its fleet. This expansion, a collaboration between Lyft, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), and local agencies, aims to provide sustainable transportation options and improve first-and last-mile connections to transit. The program has seen significant ridership growth, with e-bikes now comprising over half of the fleet, and September 2025 marked the system’s highest ridership month on record.

Cambridge Launches First Cycle Street

Cambridge will build its first official “Cycle Street” on Adams Road, giving cyclists priority over cars. The redesign will remove on-road parking, widen footpaths, and slow traffic, while still allowing motorist access. Used by 3,000 cyclists at peak times, the route aims to improve safety and accessibility. Construction begins on October 13 and will last about 30 weeks.

Microlino EV Debuts in Malaysia

The Microlino EV, a quirky Swiss-designed electric microcar assembled in Italy, recently debuted in Malaysia. Designed for urban mobility, it offers variants such as the Lite model with a limited top speed of 45 km/h, allowing younger drivers in Europe to operate it legally. This launch highlights growing innovation in Asia’s evolving electric mobility scene.
In Malaysia, driving a Microlino EV requires a valid Class DA licence. Microlino will not officially launch until Q1 2026. Pricing is yet to be confirmed locally, though in Europe it starts at 17,990 Swiss francs (RM94,928), with import duty exemptions applying until year-end.
