Swedish infra-tech company Standab has raised €3.6m to expand its universal charging network for e-bikes, e-scooters, and other light EVs. The primary goal of these stations is to reduce pavement clutter, thereby lowering extra costs for operators.

This funding round was led by Spintop Ventures and Almi Invest GreenTech. Standab will use the funds to expand its charging network to 15 European cities by H2 2026.

Erik Wenngren, Partner and Co-Founder at Spintop Ventures, said: “Standab is uniquely positioned to become the universal smart-charging backbone for Europe’s micromobility sector. The company combines strong operator partnerships, proven technology, and a highly experienced team. This investment means Standab can roll out their intelligent combined software/hardware solution as they continue to scale across Europe and deliver both financial and sustainability impact.”

Standab’s charging stations are compatible with 85% of existing e-scooters. Beyond tackling vehicle clutter, the network also helps reduce charging costs for operators. Currently, most shared micromobility operators charge their fleets via battery swapping, often using vans, which, in the case of non-EV vans, leads to additional CO2 emissions. Pilot studies show that battery swaps dropped by 55% with the installation of Standab charging stations.

Marcus Adolfsson, CEO & Co-Founder of Standab, noted that cities and operators are exploring new ways to better integrate micromobility into urban transport. On the latest fundraising round, he said: “Our universal charging solution solves operational inefficiencies while reducing emissions and creating cleaner streets. With this funding, we can accelerate our roll-out and work towards making Standab the European standard for micromobility charging.”

The real challenge arises when the charging network is deployed in cities with large shared micromobility systems. If successful at scale, one can expect this charging network to be adopted by many more operators and cities in the future.

In June 2025, Standab partnered with Dott. Under this partnership, Dott will charge its vehicles using Standab’s network in Norway, Finland, and the UK.
