Lime Expands E-Bike Parking in London
Lime has funded over 930 new e-bike parking bays in London as part of its £20m London Action Plan, bringing its total to more than 3.25k bays, a 40% increase since January 2025. These efforts have reduced parking bay overcrowding by 59% and improved response times by 69%. The company has also introduced new technologies, including an in-app incentive that rewards riders who start rides on misparked e-bikes or in overcrowded bays. Lime is now inviting London businesses to convert underused outdoor spaces into parking, with Lime covering implementation costs.
Oakland Launches Affordable E-Bike Lending Program
The City of Oakland has launched a low-cost electric bike lending program at the Fruitvale BART Bike Station. Residents aged 18 and over can rent an e-bike for four weeks for $120, with a subsidized rate of $20 for low-income residents. Funded by a $1.8m grant from the California Air Resources Board’s Clean Mobility Options program, the initiative aims to overcome the financial barrier of e-bike ownership and provide equitable, clean transportation options, particularly in underserved communities. The program features the Gazelle Medeo T-9 City e-bike and is operated in partnership with the existing Fruitvale Bike Station.
Trek Launches First Electric Gravel Bike

Trek has introduced its first electric gravel bike, the 2026 Checkpoint+. It features TQ’s HPR60 motor providing 60Nm of torque and a 360Wh internal battery, offering up to 50 miles of range. Classified as a Class 3 e-bike in the US with a top assist speed of 28 mph, the bike is built on a carbon frame with gravel-specific geometry, 50mm tire clearance, and multiple mounts for bikepacking. Three models are available, ranging from $5,999 to $7,999, though the non-removable battery may be a drawback for some riders. The Checkpoint+ aims to blend high-performance electric assist with Trek’s signature gravel-ready design.
In Paris, Lime Reduces its E-Bike Fleet by 30%

In Paris, Lime will be reducing its e-bike fleet by 30%, as per the new contract with the city council. In June 2025, Lime, Dott and Voi won the shared e-bike tender and each of the operator are allowed to operate up to 6k e-bikes. The new contract will commence from October 1st and will run for 4 years.
Moncton Proposes Licensing for E-Scooter Rentals
The City of Moncton is introducing a new bylaw to license and regulate businesses that rent micromobility devices such as e-scooters and e-bikes. Companies will need to apply for a license, carry insurance, pay a $50 annual fee per device, provide helmets, enforce age and speed limits, and share real-time tracking data with the city. The bylaw holds rental companies responsible for user behavior, with fines and license revocation for violations. Local operators, such as Move Scooter Rental, have expressed support, noting that the rules will improve safety and standardization. The proposal will go to a full council vote this fall.
National E-Cargo Bike Share Expands in Boston

Libertyville Bans E-Bikes and E-Scooters
The Libertyville Village Board has passed Ordinance No. 25-O-48, banning the use of all low-speed e-bikes and e-scooters within all village parks and the downtown (C-1 Zoning District) area. The ban, prompted by increased complaints and safety concerns, especially regarding youth riders, exempts village employees on official duty and personal assistive mobility devices. E-bikes that meet state legal definitions remain permitted on roads, bike lanes, and trails outside the banned zones. Police also highlighted concerns over powerful, illegal electric dirt bikes and reminded residents of licensing and age restrictions for motor-driven cycles.

The technology eliminates fire risk, charges fully in 25 minutes, offers a lifespan ten times longer than lithium batteries, and includes a 10-year warranty. Anod has also developed an energy-efficient French-made motor. The company aims to influence the global e-bike industry toward safer and more durable energy solutions.
