Stewart is a nationally recognized business leader who currently serves as the Co-CEO of the global Bird and Spin micromobility brands, and is the CEO (and Founder) of Bird Canada. Bird and Spin provide over 32M e-scooter and e-bike rides annually to millions of people in over 275 cities around the world. Stewart also serves as a Board Member at the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario, Metrolinx and Borrowell.
Previously, he was SVP of Emerging Business at SiriusXM Radio, focused on growing its Automatic Labs division, a San Francisco-based developer of software and hardware that monetizes data in the connected vehicle space. Prior to that, he was the CEO of TeraGo Networks Inc, (TSX:TGO) a national IT solutions company he grew into the largest Canadian cloud provider.
Stewart was also the co-founder and President of Mobilicity, a national wireless mobility new entrant that from a business plan grew rapidly to serve 300,000 subscribers in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Ottawa. The company exited to Rogers Communications for $465M.
Stewart also co-founded SiriusXM Canada, leading its growth, its financing as well as sales and marketing efforts. The company exited in 2016 to SiriusXM Holdings (USA) for $472M.
Stewart has been named one of Canada's Top 40 Under 40, a national program that celebrates the country's leaders of today and tomorrow, and that honours Canadians who have reached a significant level of success but have not yet reached the age of 40.
He has also been selected as one of Western University’s “Extraordinary Alumni”, one of the University of Toronto’s “People who make a Difference” and has been extensively profiled in multiple national publications such as the Globe and Mail, the National Post and others.
Stewart has an MBA from the University of Toronto and an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School, and is a lawyer and member of the Ontario Bar. He is also a member of the Young President's Organization (YPO).
