Dr. Synodis has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, with a focus on microfabrication and battery technology. In industry, Dr. Synodis has worked on hundreds of projects related to commercial energy storage systems, with a focus on safety, abuse testing, and failure analysis of lithium-ion batteries. In the proactive space, he’s performed a variety of evaluations of lithium-ion powered devices ranging from consumer electronics and wearables up through larger scale energy storage systems and EV level testing. He’s also provided technical support and has been retained as an expert witness in fire investigations and product liability litigation cases, including those related to e-bikes and other e-mobility applications, as well as some IP and IA matters.
