About
Jason Levine is the Executive Director of the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The Executive Director is the chief operating manager of the agency and is responsible for the programmatic, operational, and administrative functions of CPSC. The ED manages the agency’s regulatory portfolio and supervises CPSC’s efforts to identify and reduce hazards to consumers. Levine oversees compliance enforcement, import surveillance, information technology, and international programs, as well as the agency’s financial management, facilities, and outreach to the consumer and stakeholder communities.
This is Jason’s second stint at CPSC, having spent six years at the agency in leadership roles between 2009-2015, including as Chief of Staff. Immediately prior to rejoining the agency in January 2022, for 5 years Mr. Levine was the Executive Director of the Center for Auto Safety, an independent national non-profit advocacy organization focused on vehicle safety.
Jason has a well-established commitment to public service - having worked at four different federal agencies, during three Presidential administrations, including the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, the Administration on Aging, and the Federal Election Commission. Before joining the government, he worked as an attorney in private practice in Washington, DC. He is a graduate of Northwestern University.
