Dave’s career has focused on helping everyone to access the utility, economy, health, and joy of bicycling for everyday trips. He is currently Senior Director for Infrastructure at PeopleForBikes helping local stakeholders transform their streets with bikeways accessible to people of all ages and abilities. He is a serial founder of nonprofits, serving as the first executive director of the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, the San Francisco Transit Riders’ Union, and Transportation for a Livable City. Just prior to joining PeopleForBikes, he rebuilt the California Bicycle Coalition into a powerful force for policy change in California. He has served as a public official on the Golden Gate Bridge Highway & Transportation District and as a planner for the thinktank San Francisco Planning & Urban Research.
