About
At 18, Ben Taylor moved to Vancouver to attend film school, pursuing his passion for storytelling, and began working as a professional film editor and social media consultant. That same year, Ben founded Beachman, inspired by the design and carefree lifestyle of 1960s California. Initially a brand without a product, Beachman started as an Instagram account (@beachmanlife), where Ben spent six years developing branding assets and ideas, always with the dream of creating motorcycles.
In 2018, Ben returned to Toronto and met Steve Payne, a self-taught electrical engineer who built vintage Café Racers. Together, they launched Beachman, focusing on building electric motorcycles with vintage aesthetics. Since 2021, the company has been handcrafting bikes in Toronto and selling them across North America. Ben’s goal is to revive the spirit of 60s and 70s mopeds while reducing car dependency by promoting light electric vehicles. Passionate about sustainability, Ben aims to create a net negative environmental impact and improve the lives of Beachman’s customers. He is excited about expanding Beachman globally in the coming years and remains deeply committed to his vision.
