Kersten is a partner in the firm’s Frankfurt office. He dedicates his efforts on the future of mobility and serves clients in three main areas: the automotive industry, other incumbent industries, and mobility disruptors and investors in new mobility.

His focus areas are shared and autonomous mobility, micromobility, urban mobility, and business building around mobility topics.

Since Kersten joined McKinsey as a consultant, his work has primarily been in the mobility industry. Working with OEMs, suppliers, mobility providers, technology companies, cities, transport authorities, and financial investors, he specializes in the impact of disruptions on transportation. Kersten has expertise with connected cars, autonomous driving, and shared mobility, and leads much of our work on these issues.
